In 1988 the Bridgestone Corporation purchased The Firestone Tire & Rubber Company, founded in 1900 by Harvey Firestone. Combining these two powerhouse tire brands into one operation turned Bridgestone into the world’s largest tire company. Bridgestone Tire established its headquarters in Nashville, TN, where it remains today.
